Bangladesh Auto Re-Rolling&Steel Mills Association in a statement said that loading and unloading activities remained stopped at Benapole land port since December 10th,as laborers went for a strike on various demands,creating many reasons to worry for the port's mill owners.

The association said that the concerned authorities to step up to resolve the situation to help resume trade at the port and help industries function properly.

The work abstention has caused piles of import and export goods to be stuck at the port,leading to an increase in demurrage and stopping input supplies to many local manufacturing units.
